DESCRIPTION:These sessions will address some of the challenges within the law when helping clients with dementia with legal services so that you can feel confident in supporting their needs and ensuring you are compliant with your professional obligations. \nIt will dispense some of the popular myths surrounding the illness and consider how we can communicate better with clients who have dementia by asking the right questions. \nYou will learn practical tips to take away and implement into your day-to-day work \nBy the end of these sessions you will be able to: \n\nUnderstand what dementia is\nDemonstrate how to meet the needs of vulnerable clients and support clients with dementia\, as well as their families\nManage conflicts of interest and identify who your client is\nNavigate the rules surrounding access and rights to personal information\nUnderstand the circumstances when access and disclosure of an incapacitated person’s will is permitted\nRecognise when it is the right time to register an Enduring Power of Attorney\nExtensive notes will be provided and time will be set aside for delegate questions\n\nPlease note\, the course fee is per person. \nAll sessions are recorded and available on demand if you are unable to join live.
