Networking is a skill that can be learnt, tuned and honed like any other skill. For many, networking does not come naturally. Good networking can lead to the development of key relationships; bad networking can do much more damage than good, both to your personal and business reputation.

In this 1 hour training session, trainer Emma Vigus help participants recognise how the skills we all use to navigate daily life can be adapted to make networking rewarding and enjoyable.

The training will equip participants with the skills and strategies required to build and maintain professional relationships via in-person networking. The tools, tips and strategies discussed can be applied within your business and at external events.

• Participants will understand the contribution networking makes to the development of internal and external professional relationships, career progression and business growth.

Developing a personalised networking strategy

• Participants will be able to apply their understanding of ‘self’ to develop a personalized networking strategy that accommodates personal preferences, goals and target audience.
• Participants will be able to recognise and create networking opportunities that suit their personal networking style.
• Participants will be able to measure the success of their networking activities and refine their approach for continuous improvement.

Effective communication skills for networking

• Participants will understand how to initiate and develop conversations through open ended questioning, identify motivators, practice active listening and develop their abilities to retain information.

Building and maintaining relationships

• Participants will learn strategies for nurturing and sustaining professional relationships both online and in-person, with an emphasis on mutual value exchange.
