Residential Service Charge Issues

September 3 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

£55

In this webinar, we will examine recent developments in connection with residential leasehold service charge issues.

Residential service charge remains a problem for leaseholders.

The need for buyers of leasehold property to, be aware of their obligation to pay service charge, the protection that is available to them in connection with service charge and the risk of unascertainable future liability, are major issues for clients and conveyancers alike.

In this sixty-minute webinar, Ian Quayle will explore the problems and the approach to be taken. He will also take practitioners through some important recent case law which sheds light on this important subject.

This webinar will cover:

  • The effect of the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 2022 on residential leasehold transactions and management
  • The impact of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets v Lessees of Brewster House and Malting House on interpreting service charge provisions and sweeper clauses
  • Administration fees and reasonableness
  • Scoping the Retainer and Reporting on Title on service charge issues

Please note, the course fee is per person.

The session is recorded and will be available on demand if you are unable to join live. Please book your place and the recording will be circulated 48 hours after the live session to review on-demand.
