Will drafting is becoming more complex due to the nature of more complicated family dynamics, tax planning and care fees planning. Practitioners need to be more aware of the interaction and use of trusts either in a person’s lifetime (‘inter-vivos’) or within a will and advise clients accordingly. Not only that but legislation changes have meant that the use of electronic Wills is likely to become the norm in the future, as well as electronic assets such as bit-coin and cryptocurrency.
All of these changes have meant that practitioners now more than ever are having to ensure that processes are put in place to protect both themselves and their clients when questions are raised by disappointed beneficiaries as regards will validity.
This 10 session course will consider the current rules for will drafting, giving practical advice as to the use of will trusts, the interaction with the Trust Registration Service and protecting yourself against future challenges to wills you may draft.
